Ask Claude About Your Climbing Training

Jake Bresnehan·

One of the most common requests we've had this year is to use AI with your Sequence training. It's here now.

Sequence now connects to Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI apps. Link your account and you can ask the AI you already use about your own sessions, workouts, goals, and notes, and get answers based on what you've actually logged.

What You Can Ask

Once it's connected, you can ask the sort of questions that used to mean an evening with a spreadsheet:

  • "How has my training load changed over the last six weeks?"
  • "Which sessions did I skip this block, and what reasons did I give?"
  • "Summarise my notes since my last milestone."
  • "Am I closer to my 7b goal than I was in June?"

The answers are only as good as what you've logged, which is a decent argument for logging how a session felt and not just whether you did it.

What It Can See

The connector can read your training sessions, workouts, goals, notes, and milestones. That's it.

It's read only on purpose. An AI app can't move a session, change a plan, or log anything in your name. I'm comfortable with a model reading my training. I'm less comfortable with one quietly rescheduling my rest day.

Setting It Up

  1. In Sequence, go to Settings, then Integrations, and copy the connector URL from the Sequence MCP section.
  2. In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector and paste the URL. Claude Code and Codex work too, and the settings screen gives you the exact command.
  3. Sign in to Sequence when you're asked and approve access.

There are no API keys or tokens to copy around. Every app you've connected shows up under Connected apps with when it was last used, and you can disconnect any of them with one click.

What It Costs

Nothing. The connector works with any Sequence account.

One last thing. Treat what comes back as a smart training partner's opinion, not a coach's prescription. It's very good at spotting patterns in your data. It doesn't know your shoulder's been grumbling since Tuesday unless you wrote that down.
